Olivetti come valore universale. Una proposta di ampliamento del WHS "Ivrea, città industriale del '900"

In 2018 the industrial city of Ivrea joined the WHL. Among the reasons of this inclusion its ability to reflect the idea of “Community Movement”, expressing an improved relationship between industrial production and built architec-ture. However, the vision suggested by Adriano Olivetti, the owner of the company that “invented” the city, was not limited to this specific town; between 1950 and 1970 the “Community” project has reached many Italian and foreign locations, pursuing the aim of producing a model of social organization in which the person is seen as human being and the production runs together with social and cultural services. Moving from this statement, the paper claims the importance of rethinking the WHS of Ivrea, transforming it into an international and serial site in order to celebrate and protect a model of industrial and social organization thought as expandable in different scenarios
